I take great pride in being a discount Realtor or flat fee mls Realtor.   I've been a licensed Realtor for about 35 years now. After doing over 6,000 listings with hundreds of files closed, I know like most professions there are great Realtors and bad Realtors.

I know too after watching thousands of listings that getting into the MLS is the key to selling so using us as a discount Realtor is the way to sell! Even a great full service, top producing Realtor can do little once a home is listed in the local MLS.  After a home is listed in the MLS, the listing automatically goes to hundreds of sites like Zillow, Realtor.com, Redfin, C21 and a host of others.

So, being a discount Realtor is the way to go. I could never look someone in the eyes and tell them what we do is worth 6% of their hard earned equity. To be clear, my services are valuable but few agents can justify their high commissions.  

Most people know too that once a home is in the mls, the buyer comes from a buyer's agent. It would be rare that a listing agent sells their own listing as there are typically hundreds and sometimes thousands of agents that are members of the local MLS.

So, I love being a discount Realtor or flat fee mls Realtor. I don't make much so I try to make it up on volume.

I firmly believe the flat fee mls business model being a discount flat fee mls Realtor is fair.   Why?

1. We make a fee up front, not a huge fee but a fair fee.
2. We fully cooperate with all other Realtors
3. If you as a home owner find your own buyer you save all of the commission, typically 6%.
4. Worst case, you as a seller save half the commission less our small up front flat fee mls fee.

For example, take a home for $500,000. Can you imagine paying 6% or $30,000 in commission to sell? I think it's insane. This is why a flat fee mls discount Realtor is the way to go!
